Coffee and Cozy

The gorgeous photos of a knitter's Instagram account often feature a cozy bed or sofa, beautiful scenery through the background window and a creamy cup of coffee. Ahhh, it just makes me feel warm and comfy...but it is short-lived and definitely a fairytale image, in my life anyways. You see, when I knit, I have a 3 year old demanding all sorts of favors, and her toys are burying the couch and floor. My lovable lab, while sweet, has the perfect timing of scratching at the door to go in or out as soon as I settle myself with my knitting. And coffee...AND KNITTING!? That is one dangerous combination and a risk that I am not willing to make. So what do I post on my Instagram? My posts are closeup selfies or closeup shots of my work or closeup of something...mostly avoiding insight into my true, chaotic knitting environment which is just as described as above. It doesn't mean that I don't think others have these perfectly comfy and cozy crafting settings, but it just isn't my life. I do however love a pretty photo, so I will continue to admire such posts. Maybe I will mimic that setting one day, but on most days, I am choosing between knitting OR coffee.
